It’s a question many people bring up to us: “I know someone who’s homeless; what can I do?”
Our approach to reduce homelessness involves funding solutions that will over time provide housing for the chronically homeless and bolster emergency services, but there are many people who need immediate assistance. If you or someone you know is in immediate need of social services in Arizona, dial 2-1-1 to reach Community Information and Referral Services, a 24-hour hotline that provides community information and referrals.
2-1-1 works from any phone within Arizona. If you are outside of Arizona, you can dial 877-211-8661. For help specifically with homeless or domestic violence shelter, you can reach CONTACS, which stands for COmmunity NeTwork for ACcessing Shelter, within Maricopa County at 800-799-7739 or from anywhere at 602-263-8900.
For a detailed list of various services available, visit the Community Information and Referral Services Arizona Resource Database.
Arizona 2-1-1 and CONTACTS are community services, and are not part of Dixiletta Moving Pictures or the One Step Away campaign.
Thank you for helping get the word out on 2-1-1 Arizona.
Let us know if we can partner on your efforts.
